'With a 3 year old and 4.5 month old twin boys who were still not sleeping through the night life was a bit of a blur! I knew what I had to do as I'd done it with my older boy - I needed a routine but try as I might we couldn't achieve this. I had slipped into a pattern of three hourly bottles, letting the babies sleep when they felt like it. I was just introducing solids but only when I had the time meaning some days they had two meals and other days none. I was doing everything wrong but they would cry and cry and I'd relent by getting them up or giving them milk. I was worried one would wake the other or the older one and I was just existing each day.

I was at my wits end and stumbled across 'Deearna's Maternity Agency' who I called to enquire about sleep training. Jodie was easy to talk to, clearly explaining the fee structure and what they could offer. I was sent a CV of a sleep trainer within minutes and had an appointment for a skype conversation with her that afternoon. I am so grateful to the agency for getting me in touch with the consultant as she has literally transformed our life - before we were just exisiting and now we really have the energy and predicatability to enjoy our boys.'

We sent a desperate email to this agency at 11oclock on Saturday night by 11.15 we had a call from Deearna who talked through what we needed to do to have a peacefull night that night-everything she said to do we did and it worked,she then said the baby should be due another feed at 3 so she would set her alarm for 3.45 to call us and talk through settling methods,we couldnt believe it when she did call.The arrangement was then left that we would recieve a call at 9 to arrange what cover we needed this again happened and by 2 we had secured a maternity nurse. Such a fabulous service and the fact my email was answered late on a Saturday night and follow up calls were made during the night has simply blown us away.We just want to say we contacted another agency on Wednesday before finding Deearna's and as yet they have not even returned our initial call.Deearna didnt even charge us for the night phone support she gave us.We just can't thankyou enough- words what can we say- just thank you

I contacted Deearnas as I was looking for someone to help improve my 10 month old’s night time sleeping as she was waking several times a night and I was due to return to work. Deearnas responded within the same day providing some CVs and after I selected a sleep consultant, I was put in touch with her also within the same day. She visited our home the following weekend and put changes in place immediately. The difference was immediate – Our daughter slept the whole night through on our first night after the visit! And she has done for the 3 weeks since except from a couple of nights when travelling disrupted her sleep. The service we received from both Deearnas and the sleep consultant was exactly what we were looking for and has changed our lives as a family!

Having initially found a maternity nurse an issue occurred which meant I had to start the process again which was unnerving as a first time mum and time being of the essence.
I contacted the Deearnas agency who responded swiftly in terms of getting back to me after having left a message. They not only took my preferences on board but on the same day started emailing me suitable CV options.
Within a day I had managed to find a gem of a maternity nurse who fitted my criteria. What a difference it made to know that the Deernas agency listened to my needs and magically responded with cvs. Knowing that they took such a personal approach in the process made me feel reassured and confident that they were really there to help!

Deearna is a lovely lady, a modern day Mary Poppins, who came to meet us while I was still pregnant with my twins. She was very friendly and made me feel relaxed about my impending motherhood! When our twin girls arrived early at 34 weeks, she was able to find us a wonderful replacement maternity nurse as the one that we had booked was on another job. I used Deearnas Maternity Agency to find a babysitter to look after my 12 week old baby during my sister’s wedding. The service that I received was excellent. All emails and phonecalls were returned promptly and to my satisfaction. I was appointed a suitable lady to look after my daughter and was given reference details that I could follow up. The babysitter was excellent and I felt that my baby was in very safe hands. The agency certainly played a pivotal role in ensuring that everything went to plan and I would highly recommend them .

One morning I texted with Deearna, who'd been highly recommended by a good friend, and she replied within minutes. Jodie then called me 10 minutes later and gave me a list of options. One hour later I had an in-depth phone consultation with one of Deearna's sleep consultants. At lunchtime we started implementing all the changes she recommended (regarding sleep, milk, solid food etc) and that very night our daughter slept through the night without a peep. We had to wake her up at 7am. It was a miracle! We couldn't believe how quickly they helped solve the problem.

I was initially reluctant to arrange any help at all, other than that of family and friends, as I found it very difficult to imagine what type of help I would need with twins before I had even given birth. I made some initial enquiries with maternity nurses and agencies but most came across as very inflexible and made me feel pressured that I had to commit to a set time period and specific level of service. Without ever having had twins before how was I supposed to know exactly what, and how much, help I would need?

A few weeks ago though I flew into a bit of panic again about not having anything more formal in place to help with when the babies arrived. A friend of a friend suggested I contact Deearna and her agency so I dropped her a quick email. Within approx 30 mins Deearna herself called me back.

I was really impressed with the speed at which she called me back and with the fact that she spared plenty of time to talk through the options with me. At no point did I feel pressured, only reassured. She recommended the Welcome Home pack which would cover 3 days and 3 nights of help. Deearna said she would be happy to do this herself as she also specialises in twins. Bonus!

Before I had even committed to the support package, Deearna had emailed me a number of useful documents to read about life with twins, again with no pressure. She just seemed genuinely happy to help wherever she could regardless of whether I used her agency or not.

I was put in touch with Jodie on the agency side of things who was also a total pleasure to be in contact with. Jodie was extremely helpful with explaining how the agency worked. She was also very prompt with emailing relevant information to me.

Now it's just a waiting game as to when the babies will arrive. All I can really say at this stage is that I'm so grateful I was recommended Deearna's agency and I now feel more confident about the first few days back home from hospital with the babies knowing that we have someone like Deearna on standby.

Some background : 2 Weeks after the birth of our twins my wife and I found ourselves spiralling into exhaustion with babies that would not feed and settle, and a feeling of isolation and not knowing how we were going to survive the future days/weeks/months.

For me, how I evaluate a service is all about the “how” and the “what”.

“How” was the service provided?

We called Deearna’s “hotline” number and left a message on the morning of 29th December (Christmas week) and within several minutes we had received a text message back. Jodie acknowledged our message and within 20 minutes we had a call back, at which point we described our situation and our needs and were given a clear suggestion on how to proceed, including promise of somebody coming to our home that night.

At all stages of dealing with Deearna’s agerncy we felt we were well informed with very responsive communication and help.

“What” did we receive?

Having somebody on the night of or first call was beyond our expectations. As soon as Deearna arrived at our house we felt we where dealing with a caring, knowledgeable lady. Within an hour she had shown us new feeding techniques that halved our 2 hour feeding and settling sessions, she had explained how babies settle and sleep which provided us an insight into where we had being going wrong and allowed us to get the first nights sleep for a long time.
Over the following nights Deearna coached us with techniques that changed our life around. Within a week we had the girls in a feeding pattern, We were having time to rest between feeds and felt we had a future ahead.

In addition to the 1:1 care we also received guides and suggestions for the future which provide us with the tools for our future life with the girls.

In summary, we have found ourselves recommending Deearna's agency to several friends and colleagues - we want others to experience the same feeling that we had, one of total relief that we could begin to understand our babies, and look forward to the future with them.

I saw via Twitter that this agency operated 24/7 and wondered if they would be open over the holiday period we already had a maternity nurse but her phone was off and the agency was going to be closed for 10 days and told us there was no emergency number if we needed them so we were at our wits end. We called Deearnas christmas Eve and spoke with Deearna personally who had indeed already came highly recomended to us from friends but we had already found a maternity nurse before knowing about Deearnas,we just needed to speak to a consultant as our nurse made it clear she would not take calls over xmas or new year and the thought of 10 days and not knowing what we were doing petrified us.Deearna discussed all our concerns with us,she then agreed to call in the morning before celebrating with her family, this she did and gave us comfort by saying her phone would not be off if we needed her,we didnt want to call but we needed to,again phone picked up and answered and again over boxing day, at the end of the 3 days we asked Deearna to invoice us expecting a large bill due to the holiday period instead she said accept this as gift I hope I have enabled you to have a Merry Christmas and not spend the whole time worrying. We have since sent some gifts and flowers as compared to what we have experienced with our current agency and maternity nurse we are just left feeling like a number with them. Struggling with settling my 7 week old son I emailed Deearna in the middle of the night in desperation. Straight away I received an email saying she would call me the next day and true to her word she did.
Deearna was very calm and reassuring, she offered lots of helpful suggestions over the phone and I decided that I would like to book a maternity nurse to help me.
The nurse wasn't able to come fro almost a week but during the time I waited Deearna continued to provide me with support and advice no matter the time of day or stupidity of my question!
I have one more day till my maternity nurse starts so I have everything crossed this will make a difference for my family. I would whole heartily recommend any stressed parents contact Deearna's agency should they require support.

Im just in shock,My mother was in a supermarket with my screaming baby when Deearna approached and said to my mum would you like me to tell you what i think is wrong with your baby and why she is screaming like that, my mum was desperate and the dummy was in and out so of course my mum was delighted that instead of people staring and tutting someone was willing to help.Deearna looked at Sarah and said she has a nasty ear infection that is why she is tugging at her ears and she is teething, without any thought Deearna took my mum to the chemist bought saline drops for her blocked nose and dentinox for her teeth so unassuming was Deearna she said would you like me to teach you what to do or would you just like to do it. Deearna showed my mum what to do then said now let Sarah have some cooled boiled water to calm her gums down, everything worked Sarah was so calm we went to the doctors that day and we told him what was wrong with Sarah's ear ! he said how do you know, my mum just smiled and said lets just say today I was blessed by a wonderful lady that came to our rescue.Deearna left her card with my mum and said ring me anytime day or night (there is no cost) for any questions you may have.We called at 3 in the morning but this was by accident and she answered!We researched Deearna and her agency and my what a woman this is, your just so amazing and we feel we owe you so much. I have been very lucky enough to be introduced to Deearna after a not so great experience with another maternity nurse and agency when my baby was 4 weeks old.
I was tearing my hair out as my baby was so unsettled and the minute I spoke to Deearna I felt safe and in control. With her guidance over a few days before she was due to come to troubleshoot little Freddie was settled and content and as it turned out she felt that we did not need a live in maternity nurse. I felt awful as it meant that she was out of pocket but she was adamant that she was not needed for a live in. I am indebted to her forever as she has continued to give me support and guidance and it is wonderful to have her as I dont have support from a mum/sister and it is lovely that I only have to call for advice on anything.

I contacted Deearna's as I am expecting my first baby in February. From a sea of other numbers/websites we picked out Deearna's as it looked professional, approachable and friendly. I contacted Deearna's agency when I found out I was expecting twins and luckily Deearna herself was free to help me when my girls were due. 20th century Mary Poppins our twins of 3 months just cried most of the night-- In walked Mary and whooshhhhhhh ! a miracle happened the babies are so different thanks to Deearna teaching us some settling methods. Deearna or Nanny McDee as we have named her has been a godsend for me the mum and our newborn baby. We employed Nanny McDee to help us with our 2 week old baby who was diagnosed with reflux and poor weight gain. She turned up to our house and our baby was screaming. After 1 day she had taught us how to feed and settle our baby and she left a happy house. We quickly learned and got our baby in to a good routine so that we have a much happier little baby. Our baby is now thriving and gaining weight. She does not suffer with reflux now we follow Nanny McDee's helpful tips at feeding and nap times. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending her to any first time parents needing help with their newborn.

Deearna's was fantastic at finding us a maternity nurse, it was nice that we were provided with free phone support until the nurse arrived 3 days later. Having said this,over the 3 days we contacted Deearna personally for advise on settling our 5month old twins, we were gobsmacked !!! everything she said worked we didnt need the maternity nurse in the end as Deearna had us sorted but we still had the nurse for a weeks break. Upon discovering that I am expecting twins later this year, my husband and I immediately set about looking for a maternity nurse for some assistance during the weeks following the birth.
Deearna's was one of the first agencies I contacted and I couldn't be more glad to have done so. Compared to others, this is a relatively small agency, and the service offered is far more personal as a result, with Deearna having met all of the nannies on her books personally. My husband and I both work long hours and sometimes struggle to find the time to organise our affairs, but Deearna's refreshing efficiency couldn't have made things easier for us, right from the submission of our original online enquiry, which was answered within minutes, to further correspondence, which has been responded to immediately, whatever the time of day.
Having started our search for a maternity nurse fairly early, we are lucky enough to have booked Deearna herself, which has already taken away much of the anxiety we had been feeling over the prospect of bringing home newborn twins - our first children. Thanks to Deearna's maternity agency we now have a very contented, happy baby after initially having a very difficult start as new parents. He's now sleeping well, eating well and has a little pattern to his day that is still flexible when it needs to be. We were also helped with all the small questions that are so important about making the move from a crib to a cot, when and how long is ok to leave him to cry and how much sleep should he have in the day etc.... All the things that new parents think about! I have no doubts that we wouldn't be getting the sleep we're getting if it wasn't for Deearna!

Very happy with the super efficient and friendly service.

I needed a night nanny for my twins in a hurry – Deearna provided several CVs for my review within hours of my call, arranged an interview with my top choice and the nanny started just a couple of days later.

And it’s good to know that Deearna is always at the end of the phone if you need any extra help or have a question or concern of any kind.

I would certainly recommend the agency to anyone needing assistance with childcare, particularly if you need a quick turnaround!

I had the greatest of luck to stumble accross Deearna's agency when i was looking for a maternity nurse to help our
family after the arrival of our twins. without Deearna's help i dont know how we would have coped, especially as the twins
were readmitted to hospital when they were just 5 days old. Deearna did the nights at the hospital with the babies and talked to the doctors
as i wasn't able to, leaving it possible for me to sleep and care for my 4 yr old.
we called on the agency again recently when our whole family was struck down with a D & V bug and i had no where else to turn to for help.
they were caring efficient and never put any pressure on me when i didn't know whatt do for the best. when i decided to ask the agency to find

Deearna is quite simply an angel. We first contacted her when our third little girl was four weeks old and life with three children under three was getting a bit too much to say the least! Within hours she had contacted me, reassured and pacified me, and put me in contact with an excellent maternity nurse whom I consulted with that same day. I relaxed instantly and was able to enjoy my little one’s first few weeks, whilst also receiving advice on my two older toddlers’ adjustments our new family situation. When our nanny needed to take a week off, straight away Deearna found me a maternity nurse to come and cover the week.

Other agencies just aren’t in the same league as Deearna’s – her speed, efficiency, attention to detail and empathy are simply outstanding. I wouldn’t even consider using anyone else.

By far the greatest thing about Deearna is that you feel there is always someone out there for you, even if it’s two o’clock in the morning and you don’t know what to do with your screaming baby! Her phone is always on and she always replies. Every new mother should have a Deearna!

We are on baby number 2, Deearna was our birth partner for baby number 1 and we are asking her back for number 2.From the moment we met Deearna we were totally calm,reassured and put at ease,she was able to answer all the questions that were niggling us.Deearna made my birthing process beautiful we were all in tears when she taught us what she calls "golden hour" the hour immmediately after baby is born, just beautifull. She is immaculate and incredibly well groomed.Friends of ours have all used Deearna or her maternity agency for our maternity nurses we all appreciate that she is always there or her staff at the end of the phone anytime you need them.
